Birthday party invitations wording is very important in setting the
tone expected at the event. With a little careful thought in your
wording you can be sure the party will have the feel the guest of
honor will appreciate.
When starting your birthday party invitations you will typically
know what the theme or tone of the birthday party is intended to be.
It could be anything from a character theme to classic and mature.
You will want your guests to be aware of this before they arrive at
the big event. Your party invitations wording should reflect the
theme and tone.
If your party is a themed party you will want to make that clear in
the wording of the invitation. For example, if it is a nautical
themed use terms that are nautical in nature such as “Come Set Sail
with Us!”
Making sure that your guests get a feel for the event before they
even arrive will ensure that you will have a nice turn out. They will
be drawn to the excitement of your event.
These are invitations and so they should be “inviting.” Be
exciting in your wording. Words such as “It’s a Party!” “Come Join
Us!” or “Don’t Miss It!” can create a feeling of excitement and
anticipation.
If the party is intended to be an event full of laughs such as an
“over the hill” party or a “sweet 16 party” you will want to be sure
that is obvious to the would be guests.
If the guest of honor is a child you will want to incorporate the
age of the child in the invitation to help the guests prepare age
appropriate gifts. You will likely want to put any milestone age on
he card as well for example for a 21st birthday party or a 50th
birthday party you will want to state that someplace on the
invitation.
Another important aspect of the birthday party invitations wording
is to be sure you have all the pertinent information in an easy to
find manner. Do not put so much information onto the invitation that
the basics are hard to find. Your guests should be able to find the
location, date and time, and RSVP contact information easily. If they
have to search for that information the invitation may end up in a
pile of “to do’s” only to never be done or left to the last minute
causing headache for the host.
